Surviving the Holidays with Your Pets.

The holidays are here again. Since everything is due to start going crazy soon -- assuming that it has not gone crazy yet -- we have assembled a quick list of our most helpful links from the past.

This may be called a Survival Guide, but we sincerely hope that it helps you do more than that: we wish for all of you and your pets to have a happy, safe, and wonderful experience this year.

Articles

  • Air Travel Tips is a guide written by our staff using years of experience as pet lovers and retailers. It is built on both our experiences and those experiences of our valued clients.

I have personally put together two lists of survival guides, based on a near life-long experience as a pet owner.

Travel

Remember in the case of a hard or soft carrier to acclimate your pet to the new home. If possible, please get your pet used to the carrier at your home on a daily basis for at least one week. This drastically cuts down on anxiety during travel or visits, resulting in a happier experience for you and your pets.

Tree Defense Mechanisms

  • Scat Mats provide a small, harmless shock to keep pets away from trouble areas. They run on 9 Volt batteries out of the box, meaning less stress on your power outlets.
  • StayAway uses air, sound, and motion detection to deter cats away from unwanted areas.

You may also consider elevating your tree on a small, round table.

Holiday Celebrations

Please take time out for your pets no matter how hectic things get before the big day. Feed your pets before opening gifts and maybe even present your cat with a new toy and your dog with a tasty, long-lasting bone. A little planning and sincere affection can help you and your pets celebrate the holidays in harmony.

Thank you, and have a wonderful holiday season.
