Important Information About Insect Growth Regulators

  • Hard chemicals such as Dursban, Diazinon, Malathion, Lindane, and other petro-chemicals can be dangerous to you and your dog. They become less effective with each repeated application.
  • Insect Growth Regulators disrupt the metamorphosis of the life stages, preventing reproduction by preventing one stage of the flea life cycle from changing to another.
  • Insect Growth Regulators are not pesticides. They do not kill the flea. For the same reason that they do not kill the flea, they do not harm people or pets. Most are biodegradable to mammals.
  • An Insect Growth Regulator applied over the environment before the appearance of fleas can help prevent any infestation. Any uninvited pest which your pet brings home or which gets into your environment from any other source will be rendered unable to reproduce.
  • An Insect Growth Regulator combine with an organic flea killer and a mechanical egg penetrator will kill any adults which are present, kill any eggs and pupae which are present, and prevent any re-infestation from new arrivals.
  • Insect Growth Regulators can be used in your dog in pill form, on your dog by spray, or over the environment.
  • Our experience has shown that:
    1. Over the environment is best.
    2. On the dog is also important to kill and repel fleas before they even bite.
    3. The pill is helpful but is expensive and must be combined with environmental applications, so it is redundant and has minimal effect on anything except your pocketbook.
